How To: Candy Cane Sugar Scrubs

The Candy Cane sugar scrub is a fantastic gift idea for friends-or treat yourself to luxurious spa time with DIY-style grace!

This year, I was planning on giving everyone I know the usual mall-bought gifts when I had an idea. A sugary no-cavaties-included idea. A deliciously sweet, awesomely healthy and good-for-you body scrub. It’s festive and soothing. Plus, it’s easy to make. (A great thing, considering my lack of crafty skills)

The finished product:

THIS RECIPE MAKES JUST ENOUGH FOR FOUR OF MY MEDIUM-SIZED JARS.

All you need is:

4 Cups white sugar

3/4 Cup extra virgin oil

2 tsp. honey

Red Food Colouring

2 Mixing Bowls

9 drops Peppermint Oil
3 Medium Jars

Step 1: Pour 2 cups sugar into each mixing bowl.

Distribute the 3/4 cup Extra Virgin Oil evenly between the two bowls.

After stirring, put it however many drops of food colouring to ONLY ONE BOWL.

Stir well until the scrub is the desired colour. Then pack down a layer of one colour. Add the other, and keep going until you reach the lid.

For a finishing touch, tie a candy cane around the neck of the jar with a ribbon!
